Rapid Band

RAPID-BAND is a bitumen sealing strip modified with SBR elastomers and extruded resins which has been industrially pre-shaped and pre-manufactured. It is self-adhesive, applied cold and ready to use. This system has been created to seal surface course cracks to avoid water penetration and create a vertical expansion joint between two layers.

RAPID-BAND is a bitumen sealing strip modified with SBR elastomers and extruded resins which has been industrially pre-shaped and pre-manufactured. It is self-adhesive, applied cold and ready to use. RAPID-BAND sticks firmly and definitively to the existing asphalt mixture. The product is highly stable, does not run, does not soften at high temperatures and does not stick to tyres as the strip is equipped with an integrated aggregate surface. The passing of traffic rather encourages the bitumen to penetrate the crack.

The product only needs minimal logistics during application as no heat is required. It thus optimises the cost of sealing repairs, especially for small jobs. It is highly adaptable to the irregularities of cracks. The main use of RAPID-BAND is sealing road cracks and joints to prevent water infiltration which causes swelling, lifting and road misshaping due to freezing and thawing cycles and other irregularities.
